Privacy Policy
For the Glutkern mobile app and website. Last updated: July 2026.
In short: Glutkern is a pure offline app. Your recipes, devices, photos, logbook and settings are stored exclusively on your device. There are no user accounts, no tracking, no ads and no transfer of your content to us.

2. Local data processing in the app
The app stores the following data exclusively on your device (in an on-device database or the app storage):
- your grill fleet (devices, properties, optional photos),
- your own and saved recipes, marinades, rubs and sauces,
- your photo logbook (sessions, photos, events, ratings),
- shopping list, timers and timer presets,
- app settings (e.g. language, appearance, units, notifications).
This data does not leave your device. We have no access to it. Uninstalling the app deletes it.
3. Backup, export and sharing
You can export your data including photos as a backup file (zip) and import it again. This file is created locally and shared via your device’s system share sheet - you decide where it goes (e.g. your own cloud or locally). Shared recipe or session images are likewise created locally. For storage in third-party services, their privacy policies apply.
4. Crash reports (optional, anonymous)
For troubleshooting, the app can send anonymous crash reports via the Sentry service. This feature is off by default and only becomes active if you explicitly consent in the settings (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). No personal content is transmitted, only technical error data. You can withdraw consent at any time.
5. Software updates
The app can load small updates from an update server we operate (eas.bsigned.de). Technically necessary connection data (e.g. IP address, app and device version) is processed to deliver the correct update (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). No profiling takes place.
6. Notifications
Timer alarms are triggered as local notifications directly on your device - without a push server and without transmission to us. The app only requests the permission when needed and you can revoke it in your system settings at any time.
7. Purchase of the Pro version
An optional one-time purchase (Pro) will in future be handled via the App Store (Apple) or Google Play. Payment and purchase processing takes place solely through these platforms under their privacy policies; we receive no payment data. As of now, this feature is not yet active.
8. Website hosting
This website is hosted by Cloudflare, Inc. (Cloudflare Pages). When you visit, the host processes technically necessary server log data (e.g. IP address, date and time of access, page requested, user agent) to ensure delivery and security of the site (legitimate interest, Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). A data processing agreement is in place with Cloudflare. The website uses no cookies, no tracking and no analytics tools. Fonts are served locally; no external font or CDN services are loaded.
9. Your rights
You have the rights to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR) as well as the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority. As we store no personal data about you beyond the technical server and update data mentioned, these rights essentially concern exactly those processing activities.
